The Institute of Management Accountants is the leading professional organization devoted exclusively to management accounting and financial management members. The Silicon
Valley Chapter of IMA provides members with personal and professional development opportunities through education, association with business professionals and certification in
management accounting skills. The organization is recognized universally by the financial community as a respected institution influencing the concepts and ethical practices of
management accounting. One of our highest priorities is affordable and relevant Continuing Professional Education. We offer CPE through our conferences, controllership courses,
FMN sessions, and monthly technical sessions. Members in the IMA range from management accountants and financial managers just beginning their careers to presidents and chief
financial officers of major corporations. Members also include certified public accountants, educators, students and many involved with federal, state and local governments.
Silicon Valley Chapter's conferences provide educational sessions and valuable networking opportunities to build your skills and capabilities to become a
valuable, strategic business partner, and a champion to your company's bottom line. These conferences offer a variety of networking opportunities. From receptions to discussion
lunches, you will have plenty of time to share best practices and learn from other industry professionals.
Controllership is a significant carrier path among the wide variety of accounting and finance professions. A controller analyzes and develops timely and accurate
financial information, enabling the company to deliver and improve its future overall performance. Controllers are forward looking, acting as the businesses headlights. Controller
maintain both a theoretical understanding and practical skills in advanced management accounting, process and structure cost control, and revenue stream management. In short, the
controller's job is to make the company's business objectives achievable. By attending these sessions you will learn the Controllership role in developing a scalable acumen
with concrete rules and procedures to ensure business is transacted with integrity, consistency, and reliability.
Our monthly meetings typically provide 1 - 3 hours of Continuing Professional Education. Technical Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00
PM unless otherwise noted.
